On Sunday, September 28, 2025, The Rev. Ashton Williston preached at Christ Church, Frederica on the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. Through a personal story of visiting Grand Canyon National Park as a child, she explores what “the great chasm” might mean for us today — not just as a physical gap, but as the relational distance we often allow to grow between ourselves and others.
Rev. Ashton reflects on how these everyday “chasms” form through inaction, division, and unseen need, challenging us to notice those at our gates — in our neighborhoods, our communities, and our own hearts. Jesus calls us to bridge these divides by seeing the face of Christ in each person and acting with compassion, courage, and love.
