The Women’s Book Study is beginning a special Advent selection. This month, they’ll be reading The First Christmas by Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan, and will meet on Thursday, December 18 at 12:30 PM in the Youth Room of the Parish House for discussion.
About the Book: The First Christmas offers a fresh look at the two different Nativity narratives found in the Gospels of Gospel of Matthew and Gospel of Luke. Rather than combining them into a single “Christmas story,” Borg and Crossan treat each narrative on its own terms — not as a literal “history,” but as parables rich with theological and symbolic meaning.
