We invite you to honor the life, ministry, and legacy of St. Anna Alexander, the first Black Deaconess in the Episcopal Church, during our Annual Pilgrimage and Feast Day Commemoration.
Saturday, September 20 – Pilgrimage
The pilgrimage begins at 1:00 PM at St. Athanasius Episcopal Church in Brunswick and concludes at 6:30 PM at St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church in Darien. Along the way, we will visit sacred and historic sites that shaped St. Anna’s ministry and reflect on the ongoing journey toward racial healing and justice.
Saturday Schedule
- 1:00 PM – St. Athanasius Episcopal Church, Brunswick
- 2:00 PM – Lynching Memorial Rededication, Risley School, Brunswick
- 3:00 PM – Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Pennick
- 4:30 PM – St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church, Darien
Transportation will be provided for participants throughout the pilgrimage.
Sunday, September 21 – Feast Day Commemoration
Extend your pilgrimage experience by joining us for a Feast Day Celebration at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Pennick.
We’ll gather for fellowship and a shared meal, followed by a worship service honoring St. Anna’s enduring legacy.
Sunday Schedule
- 1:30 PM – Lunch on the Grounds (Parish Hall)
- 3:00 PM – Worship Service (Sanctuary)
