January book study with RacialJusticeGA

Please join the RJGA as they begin their next book study this January—open to all members of Christ Church. The group will be reading Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome by Dr. Joy DeGruy, a groundbreaking and deeply insightful exploration of the enduring impact of historical trauma on African American communities.

In this influential work, Dr. DeGruy introduces the concept of Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome (PTSS), a condition rooted in the multigenerational effects of slavery and reinforced by ongoing systemic racism. She examines how these forces continue to shape attitudes, behaviors, and community dynamics, offering both a powerful historical lens and pathways toward personal and collective healing.

Their conversations will be held Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom, meeting on January 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2026. If you’d like to participate, please reach out and we’ll be glad to share the Zoom link. All are welcome to join.
